Meet our Staff

Church Administrator Rosemary Schacht has been the Church Administrator since June, 2004.  In addition to her work in the office, she also serves on the Altar Guild and enjoys serving as a Greeter and Chalice Bearer on Sundays as needed.  She believes that Saint James is a vital and quite amazing church, in which both her spiritual and professional needs are filled.  Rosemary says, “I am very proud to be one of the many voices of ‘Welcome’ here.”

Church Organist Andrea DeGiovanni is an accomplished and approachable music director and organist.  In 1993 she graduated from the Boston University School for the Arts with a bachelor in organ performance.  Andrea is a member of the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and is most of proud of her past service on the Young Organists Initiative Committee.  In 2010 she earned her MBA and is currently looking for a full time position in the business sector.  Andrea lives in Georgetown with her husband Joe and son William.

Rector Marya DeCarlen a preacher, pastor, evangelist, liturgist and servant leader.  She has a degree in Sacramental Theology and has been called to work in Episcopal parishes in Iowa, Maine and MA since 1983.  Marya loves to pray in color and has two most wondrous boys in grade school. 

Sexton Mark Prescott is currently serving as Jr. Warden and he wears many hats at St. James. He is also the sexton, chairperson of the Mission Committee, and serves on the Altar Guild.  Mark says “What a Joy it is to be an active Lay leader and to serve this wonderful all inclusive Church.”

 

Directions to St. James

From I-95, Georgetown/Rowley

  • Exit 54B, Georgetown Rte 133.
  • Follow 133 to downtown Georgetown.
  • Straight through lights onto Rte 97 (133 turns left to Andover. Don't follow that any longer).
  • Follow Rte 97 and cross the town line into Groveland
  • Tea Garden Restaurant is on your left. Turn here -- this is Salem Street
  • 1.5 miles (approximately,) turn right on Washington Street.
  • Church is third building on your left

From I-93/495, Rte 125 Haverhill/Bradford

  • Turn onto Salem Street in Bradford at the town green. There is a very large white church on the green
  • This is Salem Street. Follow to Groveland town line
  • Less than 1 mile after town line, turn left onto Washington Street (Price Rite Automotive will be on your right at this intersection)
  • Church is third building on your left
